CITY OF NEW ORLEANS

MARKETING / CONTENT / DESIGN

In 2002, as New Media Director for the New Orleans Mayor’s Office, Jackie served as a liaison between the city’s office of technology and various offices and departments in City Hall.

Jackie initially volunteered as part of a technology task force assembled to create efficiencies and make government more transparent and city services more accessible to residents.

She also worked closely with the Department of Economic Development’s marketing team on the rebranding of the city’s timeless fleur de lis logo and the new slogan “Tradition in Progress.”

Eventually Jackson Squared Media was contracted by the Mayor’s Office to redesign the city’s website and help launch a number of online services allowing residents to pay traffic and parking tickets, property taxes and file electrical and mechanical permits electronically.

Jackson Squared Media’s initial redesign was awarded the “Best Internet Innovation” by the Press Club of New Orleans.

Jackie was also named one of the top 30 “People to Watch” in the New Orleans City Business Success Guide in 2003.
